Summary of the special military operation in Ukraine
The liberation of all new territories from nationalists makes it possible to reduce the danger to the civilian population. The Russian side and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR have intensified the evacuation of the population from Mariupol (DPR). This became possible after the thorough suppression of firing points in the city.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side began to withdraw people in the direction of the city of Zaporozhye. It can be assumed that the militants are leaving Mariupol together with the civilian population.
The People's Militia units of the LPR were able to evacuate about 1,000 people from the city of Rubezhnoye.
The armed formations of Ukraine (UAF), after fleeing from their positions, try to inflict as much damage as possible to socially significant objects and residential buildings. As a rule, before leaving the settlement, they create a "human shield" from ordinary citizens to cover themselves with these people during the assault. After leaving the settlement, they fire at it from MLRS and artillery, undermine bridges, and install anti-personnel mines.
From long distances, nationalists strike at previously liberated settlements. In accordance with such "tactics", the UAF struck another blow with a “Tochka-U” missile system at Makeyevka (DPR). 10 people were injured. In the LPR, six settlements in the LPR were hit, including the villages of Frunze, Glubokiy, Kalinovo. It is reported that in Vasilevka alone three people died.
All military crimes committed against the civilian population are recorded by the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC). Both the law enforcement agencies of the DPR and the LPR and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation are involved in the work to establish the circumstances and perpetrators of military crimes.
According to the official representative of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov, a group of LPR troops, continuing offensive actions, is fighting in the city limits in the north-west, north-east and east of the city of Severodonetsk.
The DPR units, developing the offensive, took control of the settlements of Mikhaylovka, Stavka, Betmanka, Vasilevka and are fighting for Verkhnetoretskoye.
During the day on March 16, 128 military facilities of Ukraine were hit. Among them: 4 command posts, 2 SAMs ("Buk" and "Osa"), 4 radar detection and targeting, 7 warehouses of weapons and ammunition and 68 places of accumulation of military equipment. Three planes (two Su-25, one MiG-29) and four UAVs were shot down.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 111 aircraft, 68 helicopters, 160 unmanned aerial vehicles, 159 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1,353 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 129 multiple rocket launchers, 493 field artillery and mortars, 1,096 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are taking measures to stop the functioning of large military facilities and military-industrial complex of Ukraine, including those that produce unconventional weapons. On the night of March 14-15, strikes were carried out on the Kiev "Artyom" and “Antonov" factories, airfields in the area of Kramatorsk and Dnepropetrovsk.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have intensified actions to cover the nationalist formations concentrated in the area of the Kiev urban agglomeration from the eastern and western sides. It is reported that airborne units captured a stronghold of nationalists and foreign mercenaries near the village of Guta-Mezhyhirskaya (Vyshegorodsky district of the Kiev region). 10 American Javelin anti-tank missile systems (ATGMs), German-made ATGMs, and other foreign-made weapons were captured.
Most recently, the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov visited the village of Gostomel (Buchansky district of Kiev region). With his inherent irony, he communicated via messenger with the adviser of the "office" of the President of Ukraine, Aleksey Arestovich. In general, he offered to give up without waiting for a "knock on the door". Obviously polite.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have taken full control of the territory of the Kherson region.
In the southern direction, the liberation of the city of Mariupol from nationalist formations continues.
The situation is developing with US biological laboratories located outside their territory. According to Aleksey Polishchuk, director of the Second CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, biolabs in Ukraine pose a danger not only for Russia, but for the whole of Europe.
A special operation in Ukraine is being conducted, among other things, to stop this threat. Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenziya, pointed out that the United States does not allow inspections of laboratories, as they intend to hide the truth.
Along with this, the Chinese leadership and the public continue to ask questions concerning the military biological activities of the United States, including in Ukraine. Of particular interest is the work with materials on the transmission of coronavirus infection by bats.
Then the situation develops with the Ukrainian missile strike of a “Tochka-U” system on Donetsk (March 14, 2022). Western media publish fake reports about the Russian side launching a missile strike on Kiev, then on the Yavorov test site. Photos of fragments of the rocket, actually taken in the centre of Donetsk, are attached to the text.
According to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin, it is already known that the missile launch was carried out by units of the nationalist 19th Missile Brigade. The names of the perpetrators of the tragedy have also been established.
According to the deputy head of the Department of the People's Militia of the DPR Eduard Basurin, Zelensky on March 15 removed Lieutenant General Aleksandr Pavlyuk from the post of commander of a UAF group in Donbass. Major General Eduard Moskalyev has been appointed as the new commander. The reason for the replacement is Pavlyuk's unauthorised decision to launch a missile strike on Donetsk with cluster munitions.
Pavlyuk was appointed head of the regional military administration in Kiev. The Ukrainian side states that the change of leadership was carried out in order to "strengthen the defence of the capital region." Does this mean that a weaker commander has been sent to Donbass? And that now the Donbass group will become more vulnerable? Perhaps. It should not be ruled out that Pavlyuk simply became a bargaining chip of politicians.
There is another topic with a sequel. NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg said that the Ukrainian operational-strategic UAV Tu-141 "Strizh", which exploded in the Croatian capital Zagreb, was not equipped with an air bomb. Do you know better from Brussels? Although Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, being "in the field", as they sometimes say, repeatedly claimed that the explosion of a 120-kilogram aerial bomb at the crash site of the UAV occurred and was recorded by local law enforcement bodies.
Representatives of the Ukrainian regime do not give up trying to draw as many countries into the conflict as possible. Rhetoric of a clearly pejorative orientation has been adopted. Thus, the adviser to the head of the office of Vladimir Zelensky, Mikhail Podolyak, accused Ukraine's partners of "standing aside", "afraid to become global leaders”.
This statement was made against the background of Zelensky's meeting with representatives of the leadership of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia. The heads of government of these countries arrived in Kiev to "confirm the unconditional support of the entire European Union for the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, as well as to present a broad package of support to the Ukrainian state and society”.
The trip was coordinated with the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. Following the meeting, Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński said that it was necessary to send a NATO peacekeeping mission or a "broader international composition" to Ukraine.
According to him, the mission "protected by the armed forces, will be designed to carry peace and humanitarian aid”.
On the same day, Zelensky was forced to admit that the idea of Ukraine joining NATO had become unrealistic. He announced this after an online meeting with representatives of the northern European states that make up the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF). JEF was created in 2014 to contain Russia in the "high latitudes", do not have a permanent composition and are under the leadership of the United Kingdom.
