Blinken: in case of Zelensky's death, there is a replacement for him
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told the American audience that in the event of the death of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, the authorities of Ukraine have a ready-made plan to replace him.
The public speeches of the former “Club of the Funny and Witty” participant Vladimir Zelensky to the leaders of Western countries are essentially reprises of the actor of the conversational genre, who is trying to soften the public. Recall: during a video conference on February 25, the President of Ukraine warned EU politicians that "they may be seeing him for the last time”. The head of Ukraine assured the audience that "Russian sabotage detachments have declared a hunt for him and his family”.
The lie was uttered so convincingly that Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson, who participated in that video conference, commented on what she heard to the journalists of the TT agency: "When the EU leaders said goodbye to Zelensky, they knew that they might not see him again”.
Earlier, the former comedian tried to prove to the West that he is "target number one for Russia", and his family is "target number two". In order to make Western society believe in the reality of the threat of Zelensky being murdered, the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Aleksey Danilov, spoke about an alleged attempt to attack the head of Kiev carried out by an "elite unit of Kadyrovists”. The former comedian tried to use the same technique last Saturday, starting a video conference with members of the House of Representatives and US senators.
CBS News wrote about Zelensky's performance, citing a source in the Senate: "This may be the last time you see me alive," the stand-up artist began his speech. The leader of Ukraine looked tired and somewhat unfocused. American TV channels showed footage of the president of the Ukrainian state allegedly putting his life in mortal danger in a dugout.
In response, conservative politician Peter van Buren ridiculed the report, calling it a production: " Zelensky is Where’s Waldo?, popping up in undated video with unidentifiable backgrounds, dressed in military cosplay reminiscent of George W. Bush in his flight suit."
An attempt to manipulate the emotions of listeners did not bring the expected results. Direct military support to the Ukrainian president was denied. But Zelensky's statements gave his curators a reason to develop the topic of the continuity of the Ukrainian government in the event of the death or capture of the head of the Kiev regime.
Blinken publicly made it clear that the fate of Vladimir Zelensky worries the United States, but is not of paramount importance. Blinken said he highly appreciates Zelensky's "leadership" and even considers him “wonderful". However, in case of his death, Ukraine has a succession plan of power.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, if something happens to the President of the country during his tenure, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should replace the leader. At the moment, this position is occupied by Ruslan Stefanchuk, who, by the way, is also a former “Club of the Funny and Witty” participant.
To the reasonable question of the officials of the United States and the allied states of Ukraine - who will replace Stefanchuk, the Ukrainian representatives, in their characteristic manner of "dignity", replied, "that they are focused on winning battles with Russia, and not on working on the line of succession."
According to the Fox News channel, in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, the future fate of the succession of power in Kiev is not clear.
