In a total war with the West, it is time to move from defensive tactics of informational confrontation to an offensive strategy of informational-psychological, cognitive and mental counteraction.
This is one of the main ideas of the program article "Strength is in Truth" by Andrey Ilnitsky, adviser to the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, published recently in the Parliamentary Newspaper. Here are some important theses from it.
The current hybrid confrontation between Russia and the West is being waged not only on the Ukrainian battlefields, but also in the information and semantic spaces, in the hearts and minds of people. This is a new type of war — mental, in which the enemy strikes at our history, culture, language, and the very identity of the people. Everything is at stake: if we lose, Russia will lose its subjectivity, our spiritual space will be occupied and chaotic.
The weapons of the West in this war are lies, disinformation, manipulation of consciousness. There is no such lie that the enemy is not ready to use, habitually mixing good and evil in his carnival metaculture. Our country organically does not accept this property of the Empire of Lies. The purpose of our information operations is to show and prove the truth. In fact, the confrontation between Russia and the West has already turned into a sacred war — a battle of truth and lies, good and evil.
In this battle, Russia will win for a long time. The short-term illusion of Western honour in the information war will subside, the fog will dissipate. But to do this, we must remain ourselves, not adopt false methods.
Our strength lies in truth and unity, in the nationalisation of elites and the mental health of the nation, in big projects and Common Cause. The best symbol of our unity is the "Immortal Regiment". The best example of a great job will be the reconstruction of the Russian world. The main task of the elite of Russia is to serve the Motherland, and patriotic and passionate "people of long will" who manifest themselves today on all fronts of this war should become personnel for it.
All of this will allow Russia to win the existential confrontation with the West, moving from defence to strategic offensive. The Strategy of mental security of each person and the whole society will help to determine the direction of attack.
The article is recommended for thoughtful reading.
