Soros is not able to influence the political situation in China
Director of the Institute of International Political and Economic Strategies RUSSTRAT Elena Panina commented on George Soros’ statement about the "difficulties" allegedly awaiting Chinese President Xi Jinping when re-elected to a third term at the head of the CPC at the end of 2022, and also shared his thoughts on what, in his opinion, the "new leader of China" should be.
The days when Soros was able to bring down national financial markets with a "single click" and eliminate political regimes he disliked are long gone. Today, Soros is unable to influence the political situation even in his native Hungary, where his educational institutions are closed by the decision of the authorities.
As for China, there is no reason to assume that Soros' opinion can somehow influence the political choice of the CPC congress and the sympathies of the Chinese people. Rather the opposite. For the Chinese, who are characterised by increased attention to issues of national prestige and national pride, the statement of an arrogant foreigner is another reason to rally around their leader.
On the other hand, it cannot be said that Soros' statement is meaningless. It is obvious that his words are a definite signal for international financial structures and for those representatives of Chinese business who see themselves as part of the global business elite. Do not forget that not so long ago in the leading Chinese universities, where economists and entrepreneurs are trained, there was a real cult of Soros as a "financial genius".
Soros' words that open societies should encourage China to "move in the desired direction", which implies a change of the country's leader— is, in fact, a "black mark" sent to China by the globalist elite. It is very symbolic that this was done on the eve of the Chinese New Year. However, Soros will hardly be able to spoil the celebration for the inhabitants of the Celestial Empire: China is strong enough today to accept the challenge of global financial structures.
