The special operation in Ukraine: Russia observes the laws and customs of military actions
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are striking civilian targets. For eight years, all the data for firing has been calculated, rechecked, the artillery has been calibrated. Therefore, they spend little ammunition for important objects.
Schools and kindergartens are listed as such. Randomly shooting at residential buildings. The idea is clear: in agony, once again to intimidate the population, to thwart the anger of losing. The corridors for the exit of civilians are blocked by the Ukrainian military. Civilians are being used to build a human shield.
On camera, captured Ukrainian servicemen confirm that our soldiers treat prisoners with the utmost humanity - unlike the opposite side.
From today's news. A blow was struck at the Zuevskaya thermal power plant in the DPR, water supply is limited in Donetsk, a gas distribution station is damaged in Gorlovka. They will be restored anyway. There will, of course, be temporary difficulties.
The main thing is that there is no military sense in these Ukrainian strikes. Mariupol is blocked, Volnovakha is being cleared. Of course, Volnovakha will be cleaned up soon, and Mariupol will be liberated. Hold on, guys. There will now be one answer in eight years. It seems that there will also be a separate response for the executions of prisoners and those who disagree with the Kiev junta.
Since ancient times, there have been laws and customs of warfare. A long time ago there was such a custom - to rob the defeated and take them into slavery. To better "reach", they could destroy the remaining population entirely. Simple and clear. The more bloodthirsty and stronger you are, the better you will live. Robbery and violence looked more attractive than working hard for a piece of bread.
Over time, the rules changed. It even got to the point that they were generalised, transferred to paper, agreed upon by almost the whole world, approved and dispersed. After that, some adhered to these rules, some partially or completely ignored them.
It is believed that the beginning of the so-called natural law, “putting in order" the war, including from the point of view of the norms/rules of its conduct, was the treatise "On the law of war and peace" by the Dutch lawyer Hugo Grotius. The treatise was completed in 1623, published in 1625.
Here are the subsequent major events and agreements that led to the formation of modern international law regarding the conduct of war:
- The Geneva Conference of 1863;
- The Geneva Convention of 1864 (the first). Adopted following the Geneva Conference of 1863;
- St. Petersburg Conference of 1868. The "St. Petersburg Declaration of 1868 ‘On the Abolition of the use of explosive and incendiary bullets’" was adopted;
- The Brussels Conference of 1874. Convened at the initiative of Russia;
- The Hague Conference of 1893;
- The Hague First Peace Conference of 1899. Convened at the initiative of Russia;
- The Hague Second Peace Conference of 1907. Convened at the initiative of Russia. There, at the initiative of the Russian Emperor Nicholas II, the idea of creating a League of Nations was supported;
- The Second Geneva Conference of 1929. The Geneva Conventions of 1929 were adopted;
- The Third Geneva Conference of 1949. The Geneva Conventions of 1949 were adopted.
For some reason, the following moment sticks in my memory. When Russia, along with Prussia and some countries, sought to make the rules more humane, British representatives could remain silent or advocated rejection of any restrictions. A very revealing moment, isn't it?
And here are the main documents of the Third Geneva Conference:
- Convention (I) for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armies in the Field;
- Convention (II) for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded, Sick and Shipwrecked Members of Armed Forces at Sea;
- Convention (III) on the Treatment of Prisoners of War;
- Convention (IV) on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War.
The meaning of all conventions is the formulation of the norms of international humanitarian law in the conduct of war. But what do we see? We see that the Kiev regime often violates all these conventions, norms of law, the same human rights, primarily international ones. The West only encourages. It claps its hands, standing up in greeting with joy.
Is it really not clear that the Westerners have brought Russia to white heat through joint efforts? Did they want to throw an anaconda on the bear? The big snake, of course, will strangle the bear cub. Only the alignment is like this now – the bear has grown up, and the snake has grown old.
The Ukrainian military, especially those who are considered "infantry", should drop their weapons and go home through the Russians. Although, no, it is better to transfer weapons so as not to generate a "Somali option" and not to give it to experienced (and novice, too) criminals. If to add from the bottom of the soul, it has been the case since ancient times – it is easier to be friends with Russia than to fight.
And here's what else needs to be said. It should already be clear to everyone that the idea of a unitary state with Nazi power has failed. The reckoning for crimes against humanity and genocide will come soon. To very specific individuals.
Perhaps some of them are hoping to escape from justice. Some probably think that “abroad will help us”. I would like to think that our specialists will sort them out over time. Some will be helped. Zelensky will definitely move to Florida. There is somewhere to go and it is always warm there. What else does a person need to meet old age?
